Forged steel Flanges
A “Flange” is a ‘Forged steel’ ring device that is attached between two ends of a pipe fitting, valve and pump or, to join pipe to a high pressure vessel end. The Pipes are connected to each other by bolting with two flanges and rubber gasket between them, for a perfect seal. This makes ease of attachment and detachment of piping system. This gives comfortable access for repairing, replacing, cleaning, check-up and inspection.
The ‘Pipe Flanges’ are available in different materials like Cast Iron, Brass, Stainless Steel, Bronze, Copper, Galvanized Steel, Aluminium, Plastic etc. But the highest material used is forged Carbon Steel.
The Basic types of Flanges are
The Lap Joint.
The Weld neck.
The Threaded Flange.
The Socket welded.
The Blind Flange.
The Applications Of the Flanges
In Joining pipes and water flow pressure testing.
It Provides more strength when placed on the beams.
In maintenance and cleaning of piping system.
In the Attachment of steel pipes conveying mediums such as Gas, Oil, Steam, Air, Sanitary waste and Water.
Advantages of the Forged steel Flanges are
They are easy to use for checkup, repair and cleaning.
Flanges are joined together by bolts with rubber gaskets.
Threaded flanges don’t require welding.
Flanges are lightweight, which supports pipe joints.
Ease of assembly, need no special tools, only screwed.
It has superior performance and high durability.
